\"affordable-housing-project\"Chandigarh:<\/b> \u00a0To provide dwelling units to the Low Income Groups (LIG), the Government of Haryana approved Affordable housing policy<\/a>. This policy would provide homes at affordable prices through grant of license.The State Cabinet under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister declared in the meeting that this policy will guarantee increased supply of affordable units for the deserving beneficiaries of the urban areas. The state government is planning to deliver about 1, 25,000 low-cost housing units which would be of 500 sq ft carpet area located in urban localities of Haryana. According to an official spokesperson, the housing units will be developed through capital investment of private sector within next five years.About 6 lakh of the population belonging to lower and lower middle class can be benefited with this affordable housing scheme in the urban centers of Haryana within the period of next five years. According to the policy, the size of apartment may range between 28 sq m to 60 sq m carpet area.
