Tata housing, India\u2019s fastest growing real estate company has been honored by the prestigious Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) award for its outstanding role in the field of green construction.The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII &#8211; Western Chapter) organized GreenCO Summit 2013 at Suzlon One Earth in Pune where this realty company was facilitated by this award by the former President of India. Tata housing is one of the key contributors in achieving 1.51 Billion sq. ft of IGBC certified green footprint in India. Out of 55.4 million sq.ft of registered green building footprint of this realty company, 8.8 million sq ft have been certified.Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata Housing on this achievement said that their company makes a continuous effort to deliver eco-friendly homes to its customers. Most of their projects offers maximum green spaces and provide over 80% of open spaces for natural lighting and other natural components in their projects. Almost all the projects by the company are sustainable green developments constructed under the guidelines of IGBC.IGBC is the first green rating which is developed in India especially for the residential real estate sector. \u00a0IGBC certification is based on parameters like site selection, water and energy efficiency, materials used for construction, internal environment quality, design procedure and innovation. \u00a0This council is not developed for earning profit but to earn harmony. IGBC has about 500 committee members and aims in creating national awareness against global warming.
