From high rise buildings to bridges spanning over sea, human touch has always transformed the way of living. One such infrastructure project is getting constructed in our country that will shine at the top of the world in the golden paint. The plan is to build \u2018Chenab Bridge&#8217; at a height of 359 m (1,178 ft) above the river Chenab between Bakkal and Kauri, in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Perhaps one of the toughest engineering challenges in the hands of Indian Railways, mainly because the arch bridge is going to be the tallest rail bridge in the world. Currently there is no erect structure in India that can outnumber the planned height of the bridge.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-21281\" alt=\"facts\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/facts.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/>This 1,315 m arch bridge is a part of Jammu Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Railway Link project that aims to construct several bridges and tunnels in a move to improve connectivity of the remote villages with cities. The Bridge will consume 25,000 metric tonnes of steel and more than 3000 workers are employed. Initially the project stumbled because of the issues related with bridge&#8217;s alignment, feasibility and concerns of security. Danger is obvious at heights and so it gripped the Chenab Bridge project. But the fear couldn&#8217;t touch the will of our engineers who were determined to create something extraordinary. Thus the construction restarted and is planned to be completed by December 2016 with the investment of Rs 550 crore.<strong>Features<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chenab Bridge will be a revolution as it will not only be the world&#8217;s tallest bridge but also take care of the warnings of nature and preserve the rail route from any kind of trouble. The engineers have made sure that it can endure blast and seismic activities.<\/li>\n<li>Anemometers will be installed in the bridge site which will measure the speed of wind (might go more than 220 kmph however the permissible limit is around 100 kmph). If it goes out of control then the bridge will interlock the train movement automatically.<\/li>\n<li>The arch shape is chosen because of its seismic force absorption capabilities unlike concrete structures. Also the steel structures are much easier to construct and maintain.<\/li>\n<li>The life of bridge is said to be 120 years and trains can speed at 100 kmph without any turbulence.<\/li>\n<li>Designed by Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (had experience of constructing 179 major bridges), Chenab Bridge will be made in an intelligent way such that if any of the columns will be removed or fails then the structure would not collapse. It will be totally possible to restore the bridge by simple repair work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The railway police and RPF are giving solid protection to the construction workers and engineers in the wake of terrorist attacks (two such incidents have been recorded since the work started) in the valley of Kashmir.<span style=\"left:100%;display:inline-block;position:fixed\"><a href=\"http:\/\/rusbankinfo.ru\/\">\u0437\u0430\u0439\u043c \u043d\u0430 \u043a\u0430\u0440\u0442\u0443 \u0431\u0435\u0437 \u043e\u0442\u043a\u0430\u0437\u043e\u0432 \u043a\u0440\u0443\u0433\u043b\u043e\u0441\u0443\u0442\u043e\u0447\u043d\u043e<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/rusbankinfo.ru\/credits.html\">\u0432\u0437\u044f\u0442\u044c \u043a\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0438\u0442 \u043e\u043d\u043b\u0430\u0439\u043d<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The efforts in engineering are tested by the wonder it creates.
