If you talk about the beaches of the state then let me inform you that this state has a 720 kilometres long stretch of coastline with several serene beaches with a perfect blend of sun, sand and temperature thus making them the perfect getaway from crowded cities around. You can choose any beach from the stretch and you will find the pleasant and tranquil environment to sooth your senses. My attempt as a writer is to make you aware of different such beaches so that every time you plan to rejuvenate, you can find a new place to explore.Through this article I am taking you to a secluded but pristine beach town known as Velneshwar. Though you may have not heard about this serene place but let me assure you that you will never regret once you visit this place. We usually want to go to a place where we can find peace and if the place is not crowded the environment automatically becomes serene. Unlike the most popular beach destinations of Maharashtra like Alibaug, Ganpatiphule, Juhu beach, etc. this beach does not see many tourists. I personally feel that this place can be an upcoming tourists&#8217; destination as no one can resist the natural beauty of the place.Velneshwar is actually a small village which is situated at the Western coast of Maharashtra state at the north of Shastri River. Velneshwar is about 170 kilometres away from the famous mango growing town Ratnagiri. The tiny village seems quite natural and untouched. It is a pleasure to explore the village if you never been to one. The beach here is rock free and thus provides good opportunity for swimming enthusiasts. This serene beach has coconut trees lined up to make you feel absolutely in the lap of nature.The clean golden sand, rhythmic waves of mighty Arabian Sea does seem soothing. You can swim in the calm waters or just take a leisurely stroll along the beach. It is a perfect place to take sunbath or just relax in the cool breeze under a tree at the beach forgetting what is happening around the world as this sort of peace you will never find at other beaches. One of the most beautiful and clean beaches on the entire Konkan coast line, Velneshwar beach offers a lot to beach lovers. The nearby famous beaches are Ganpatiphule and Guhagar.Apart from enjoying at the beach you can also visit the old temple in the village. It is dedicated to lord Shiva. Many devotees come here to worship the god and offer prayers. In the month of March every year a grand Mahashivaratri fair is held here and is attended by hundreds of pilgrims. There are some other small shrines also situated in the Shiva temple complex. These small shrines are dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha and Kala Bhairav. If you want to stay here, there is a government resort near the beach to make your stay comfortable.<strong>Accessibility<\/strong>Velneshwar is easily accessible by road or railways.
