Some beaches of the state are very popular and frequented by many people within the country as well as outside the country but there are some beaches that are untouched, unspoiled and less popular. It may be because of their distance from main cities or accessibility issues. One such magnificent beach is Vengurla Malvan Beach.Though it is a bit far away from the city of Mumbai but you can never deny the natural beauty of the place. The shimmering white sand at the beach is just irresistible and the surrounding hills enhance the beauty of the beach. This place is like a paradise for nature and beach lovers alike. The hills here are covered with cashew, coconut, jackfruit and mango groves that give the variety to its flora environment. It really feels like that the small town of Vengurla is blessed with plenty of natural beauty.It is impossible to find a place in India that does not have a temple. The town of Vengurla also houses two important holy shrines named Shri Devi Temple and the Rameshwar Temple. These two shrines in this pristine village are quite significant for the locals. This town of Vengurla is a historic place as it is mentioned in the history books if you go into details of history of Maharashtra. It was initially the centre for trade settlements. You may be surprised to know that it was ruined twice by enemies sometime between 1664 and 1812. Nothing was left as the entire town was burnt without any signs of growing again. But it came to life twice and today it is quite a prosperous and beautiful town of Maharashtra state.This place is also famous for its Vengurla Rocks which is also known as Burnt Islands located at the West \u2013 North west side of the town. Another island here which was once an inner island but currently a part of the main land is known as Malvan. It is also an ancient town with rich history as you can find two forts here. The place is full of rocks covered with thick palm groves and from a distance you cannot see anything except the thick greenery. Sindhudurg and Padmagad are the names of these two historic monuments situated at Malvan. If you believe the local folks, they say that there is an underground tunnel or path that joins both the forts. Just like Vengurla, Malvan was also an important trade zone in ancient times but now the locals here are engaged in making salt and Chinese clay pottery. This place is also famous for its speciality in food known as Malvani cuisine.Vengurla Malvan beach are one of the most pristine beaches on the Konkan stretch and worth exploring or I should say worth paying a visit. I assure you that you will definitely like the place as it is never crowded and the clean environment here will provide you the perfect setting of a picturesque location to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy your time with yourself. The Burnt Island is also a serene destination here situated nearby the beach.<strong>Accessibility<\/strong>Vengurla and Malvan both are well connected by road from major cities and nearby towns. The distance from Malvan to Mumbai is 514 kilometres and from Ratnagiri it is just 200 kilometres. Vengurla is a little further situated at a distance of 522 kilometres from Mumbai. Nearest railway station is Kolhapur connected from major cities of state. A small railway station known as Kudal on the Konkan Railway Line is also located nearby.
