When you talk about the flooring of the bathroom there are lots of options to choose from but it all depends on your personal taste, style and some practical factors like its durability, water resistance factor, appearance, etc. Through this write up I am trying to help you deciding the right type of flooring for your personal space. Following are the options available for using for bathroom flooring:Ceramic tile \u2013 It is one of the most common choices made by most of the people. Ceramic tile used for bathroom flooring are different from bathroom wall tiles as they are anti skid which means they have a texture in them.Though they might give almost similar look as of wall tiles but prevent slippage due to water. The advantage of using these tiles is that they are available in plenty of colours, designs, patterns, sizes and shapes. So can use your creativity in selecting the best for your bathroom. You can also make your own design by taking two different colours or textures. The shapes in ceramic tiles are rectangular, square, octagonal, hexagonal, etc. these tiles are easily available and are also not very expensive as there are various varieties of the ceramic tiles available in market. The ceramic tiles are durable as well as hygienic as they can be cleaned easily. One should check the porosity rating that is an indicator of absorbency of water.<strong>Natural stone<\/strong> \u2013 It is another option for bathroom flooring available in size of a tile or larger in the market. Depending on the size of your bathroom you can go for the size of the stone. The bigger the stone tile the expensive it is. It gives the royal touch to your bathroom but be careful while choosing one as it can be slippery most of the times when water is spilled over the polished stone. You can choose a matt finished or textured natural stone to prevent slip. If you live in a cold region then you should avoid natural stone flooring as it feels cold and hard. One more factor should be considered that it should be stain resistant as most of the natural stones are not stain resistant and to prevent stains one needs to polish it. Though the natural stone flooring look quite luxury but they are quite expensive as compared to other options of flooring but are for a lifetime.<strong>Laminate flooring<\/strong> \u2013 laminates are actually created using the layers of various materials that include resin, wood fibre, Kraft paper, plastic, etc. these layers give it strength to stay fit. The compression process is used to make these and the final product looks like a timber board. The outer appearance of laminate flooring can be illusion of natural wood as you can see wood grains in its designs apart from other such designs. These are quite durable and inexpensive option for flooring. This type of flooring can be cleaned easily and looks stunning as it gives an impression of actual wood.Another type of flooring option in the line is vinyl which can be considered as the cheapest option. It is usually comes in sheets of 6 to 12 feet wide and very easy to install in the bathroom. Also available in the form of tiles in the sizes of 12 to 18 inches. Plenty of designs, patterns and colours available to choose from. This type of flooring is easy to clean, stain resistant and moisture free. But if you do not keep it clean germs can grow in the corners. If you have a tight budget you can go for it and one more thing it is easy to replace as well without much trouble.Hardwood is another option but for a big sized bathroom which has a separate wet area or bath tub or shower room as wood is not at all good for a surface that will regularly receive water. For a luxurious bathroom you can choose hard wood as it will give a classy look and extra warmth to its user. It needs polishing at frequent intervals to look fresh and stain resistant. It can be an expensive option but not that good for regular Indian homes.You can use a rug near your wet area like bath tub, shower area and WC. They not only add beauty to your bathroom but also add colour to it. They help prevent slips in the bathroom and are soft under your foot. The important thing is that one needs to wash then regularly to keep them clean and germ free. One should choose water resistant, stain resistant and mildew resistant if possible as it will help it to stay good for long time. A shower curtain or bath tub curtain can help to prevent water spill on the floor thus preventing wetting of floor.One can also go for mosaic tiles for bathroom as they are available in various colours and designs and easy to install. They come into two inches square or small in a pre mounted fabric mesh sheet. They are not very expensive either.Options are a lot but it is up to your personal choice and requirement which one to go for.
