It has many beautiful beaches to its credit. Some are really popular and big while others are less frequented and small. One such beach is Marve Beach. This beautiful but tiny beach is situated in the Western Suburb of Malad in Mumbai city. Though it is quite small beach because the width of the beach is very narrow but still the beauty of the place cannot be underestimated. If you go into the history you come to know once the narrow piece of land starting from Aksa Beach to Marve was one of the islands that lay off the Salsette West Coast. Until late 1808 these islands were separate. One could these islands only at the time of low tides by walking across the tidal inlets in between.Marve beach is a magnificent place to relax as the surroundings give panoramic view of hills at the beach. It is a real delight to watch sunrise as well as sunset from the beach. There is an ancient church built by Portuguese at the beach. Apart from this ancient religious place you can also see the orchard of cashew nut trees if you haven\u2019t seen any before. These trees definitely enhance the serenity of the place. There are many exotic tourist cottages here at the beach. One can take leisurely walk along the beach but from a distance to the sea as the sand here is quite unstable and shifting. Thus one should be careful while doing so. It is not overly crowded like other beaches of Mumbai city like Juhu Beach.This beach is a connecting beach to famous amusement park of Mumbai, Essel World and Madh Island to Mumbai city through regular ferry service. Ferry service is available at the north end of this beach. Gorai Beach and Manori Beach are also situated close by and can be reached easily using ferry ride. BEST provides the ferry service to Manori from here. If you come here by a two wheeler then also you can take the ferry as it can be carried on the ferry. Every five minutes the ferry service is available from here to Manori while ferry to Essel World is available every 30 minutes. Swimming is restricted at Marve beach because of unsafe coastal tides and sinking sand. The Indian Naval Base INS Hamla is also situated here. You can see INS Hamla Jawans training on the beach in the early morning hours.<strong>Best time to visit Marve Beach<\/strong>From October to March as the humidity is on lower side at this time. The beach is open all through the day though out the year.<strong>Accessibility<\/strong>Malad Railway Station is situated quite close by on the Western Railway Line. Then take the BEST bus no. 272 from here to reach the Marve Beach. The bus charges Rs. 7 for five kilometres.
