And on top of that is the transition period which involves the couple of weeks of planning, surveying, packing, moving and settling down. Of all these tasks the pivotal day is the moving day. No matter how much you are prepared and how many arrangements you make prior to the arrival of the movers, you may still land in a chaotic situation on the moving day and it can prove to be quite stressful. You can handle moving day smoothly only if you move too many times and are seasoned with the process. But hoping that you do not have to go through the situation too many times here are a few tips that can help you.If you have hired a packers and movers agency to come into your house, swoop all the stuff and move you to your new house then you may think that the moving process is going to be a breeze. But even with the agency doing all the work you have to do your share. Firstly many moving agencies are a scam underneath a fancy name. Be wary of such agencies. Also no matter how good an agency is, there are some things you do not want anybody else&#8217;s hands on such as your antique crockery set or your fancy clothes. Pack them before hand and don&#8217;t wait for the moving day.Whatever else you leave for the packers to pack, supervise them properly. If they are to take down things like fans or light fixtures take note of where they are putting the screws and bolts. The same goes for all the other furniture that needs to be dissembled and assembled.There will always be a few things that you will want to carry with yourself like cash, valuable jewelry, id proof, important papers etc. Put all these in a small bag and carry them around with you. Similarly if you are moving by a car and want some of your personal things to be moving with you instead of the movers pack the stuff in boxes, mark them pack them into the car before the movers arrive.Do some planning before moving day so that on that day you can show the movers where to place each piece of furniture or which box is to be places in which room. Make an inventory list of your things even if your packer has made one so that you can tick each article once it arrives.Plan where your moving truck can be parked. If your house is on a very narrow lane in which a big truck cannot move in, it is better to hire a small truck and make several trips (considering that you are moving somewhere close by). If your truck is parked too far away you may be charged extra. It is best to notify the neighbours beforehand so that there are no issues over the parked truck while you are loading or unloading your things.Keep cash handy so that you do have to rush to the bank or ATM on the busy moving day. On the moving day you cannot expect to cook. So you will either be eating out or ordering home delivery of food.
