Beaches are actually the sea shore dotted with white or brown sand and can be used to walk, jog or sit silently. Let me take you to one such beach of Mumbai known as Aksa Beach. It is neither very popular nor very crowded but quite serene and clean as it is not visited by many people. This beautiful beach is situated quite close to Malvani at Aksa village from which it got its name in Malad area of Mumbai city in the state of Maharashtra. It is a surprise to get to know a place in a overly crowded and noisy city of Mumbai that is totally opposite to the definition of city of Mumbai. This place is quite peaceful, scenic and neat. If you or your kids are fond of collecting shells then this beach offers the best opportunity to fulfil your desire here as the beach is full of variety of sea shells and snails. Mostly on weekend you can find youngsters walking on this beach in search of peaceful environs in city.People who love peace and serene environment come to this silent beach to indulge in nature. There are many cottages as well as hotels at this beach if you want to stay here and enjoy the beauty of nature in calm surroundings yet not far from your home. Mostly tourists and sometimes visitors also stay at these cottages and hotels to extend their interaction with lovely nature. Thus it can be called a vacation spot of Mumbai. You can enjoy the beach side but you cannot swim in the sea water as the waves at this beach are really strong and can be enjoyed better only from a distance. The impression of sand may misguide you so beware of the illusion of beach sand. At the one end of the beach is situated the Indian Navy Base which is known as INS Hamla. There is another popular but a small beach nearby known as Dana Pani.<strong>When should you visit this beach?<\/strong>Though the beach can be visited at any time of the year but the best time is from September to April to visit the Aksa Beach.<strong>How to reach at Aksa Beach?<\/strong>This beach can be reached easily from Malad (W) station, Borivali Railway Station, Madh Island, Andheri (w), Versova using local BEST buses or private taxies and auto rickshaws.Malad station \u2013 9 kilometres from Aksa beachBorivali \u2013 12 kilometres from Aksa beach<strong>Word of caution<\/strong>Do not swim in the waters of Aksa beach as the currents are quite strong and unpredictable. The sand keeps shifting fast and can mislead you. Avoid monsoon season. Do follow the warning sign boards at the beach.
