After this, nothing as big as Chandigarh has happened in the country. But behold! This does not mean that nothing bigger than that can never happen. The magnitude might differ but the Mumbai-Bangalore-Chennai corridor is all set to dazzle the eyes of the countrymen. In planning phase now, the corridor will connect all major cities across the southern and western region of India. The project is massive and has the capability to change the game of urban India. We have reached a time when we seriously need radical ideas for sustainable development that not only create a sense of superior technology but also preserve the environment for our future generations.So let\u2019s see what difference it will make:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Business boom<\/strong>: Experts believe that this corridor will improve the connectivity drastically and fill the energy in business prospects. Strong transportation and linking is making us believe the huge business potential of the locations that come along the way of corridor. Moreover the Dabhol-Bangalore gas pipeline project will provide a major boost, motivating multiple medium and large industries to invest.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expressway<\/strong>: The expressway alignment from Hoskote (outskirts of Bangalore) to Sriperambudur (Chennai) is expected to create an inspirational feeling for industries. The blue print of the same is already on the table. When constructed, you can clock at 150 km\/hr and just vroom in the 260 Km drive. It will take only two hours to reach from one end of expressway to other end.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Major locations along the corridor<\/strong>: Sriperambudur in TN, Chittoor and Palamaner in AP and Bangarpet and Hoskote in Karnataka will be the majorly focused areas in the corridor. Apart from Sriperambudur, feeble industrial activity is witnessed in the areas mentioned. After the corridor, the game is projected to change forever.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The industries<\/strong>: Automobile, steel, petroleum and petrochemicals, textile, chemicals, cement, information technology, bio-technology, food processing etc are few of the industrial categories that are looking forward to set up along the corridor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>NIMZ<\/strong>: Tumkur is a small industrial town from where the corridor passes. But more than Tumkur, NIMZ is important. The national investment manufacturing zone (NIMZ) is planned along the corridor in the city of Tumkur. It will be an integrated industrial township spreading over 5000 hectares. With planned use of land, eco-technologies, social infrastructure and high-end development, NIMZ will make a dent in the page of industrial revolution. The project has been already cleared by the state cabinet.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SIR<\/strong>: Dharwad is a city famous for its greenery in the state of Karnataka. Similar to NIMZ that has the capability to transform Tumkur, a special investment region is planned in Dharwad to boost the industrial sector located in the city. After the SIR is made, industries in multifold will look for a place in Dharwad.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Along Bangalore-Mumbai<\/strong>: Around 550 km of road length and 330 km of rail is planned only in Karnataka. Major industrial areas in Karnataka that will be focused are: Navanagara (Bagalkot), Hukeri (Belgaum), Belur( Dharwad), Yelburga (Gadag),Haeri, Kushtagi-Gadag, Savanur (Hubli), Shimoga, Bharamsagara (Chitradurga), Naraspara (Tumkur), and Vasanth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Similar to this project, the $90-billion Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is also in the planning phase.
