Among these parks one is Kamala Nehru Park. It is a beautiful park spread over an area of about 4000 square feet. This public garden is located on the top of Malabar Hill which is an important area of Mumbai. It has got its name from Mrs. Kamala Nehru who was the wife of the First Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. Living amidst a big concrete jungle can be suffocating and if you can find a little open space in such an area it is a sigh of relief. That is the same with this garden. Though this garden does not promise you hi-fi instruments or facilities of entertainment but offers open green space where kids can move freely and can enjoy their free play time. Actually an open space of grass is enough and comfortable for children to be creative in playing and this park does the trick. That is the reason you can see school children frequenting this place.Apart from green lawns, shadowing trees and diverse range of flower plants this park has an interesting structure that is the favorite of every child who visits this place. This structure is actually a giant shoe which is called Old Woman\u2019s Shoe. It seems like that this particular shaped structure is inspired by a nursery rhyme called \u2018There was an Old Woman who lived in a shoe\u2019. The structure has a small balcony at the top covered by sloping roof. Kids can go to the top and can enjoy the panoramic surrounding views. In monsoon you can see many varieties of birds chirping in the park. At sunrise it is an awesome experience to watch the Mumbai\u2019s sky line while after sunset the same place gives you an opportunity to enjoy breathtaking view of city bathing in night lights.The park is quite close to the much popular Chowpatty Beach and Marine Drive also known as Queen\u2019s Necklace. Thus the place offers spectacular views of these two landmark places as it is situated on the top of a heighted hill. There is another advantage of being situated on the top of hill and that is this place is less humid as compare to other areas of city of Mumbai. The lush greenery, very well maintained gardens and shadowing trees of the park makes it more comfortable for the visitors. It is a perfect spot for picnicking, spending evening or for morning walks for neighborhood residents. Kids specially love this place and parents like to see the smiles on the faces of their little angels.<strong>Accessibility<\/strong>The nearest rail head is Charni Road Station. From Charni Road station it takes fifteen minutes to reach Kamala Nehru Park.
