The reason behind its less popularity is that until recently it was not included in the itinerary of Andhra Tourism. The name of this museum is Nizam Museum or H.E.H. Nizam Museum which is located just 2 kilometres from the very popular historic monument Charminar in Hyderabad. As the name suggests this museum has the collection from Nizam&#8217;s family. It is situated in Purani Haveli which was a previous palace owned by Nizams. This museum displays specially the gifts that were received by the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII on his silver Jubilee celebrations. The palace where the museum is located was obtained by the second Nizam of Hyderabad state in the year 1750. He turned the palace into a museum of precious antiques which was his personal collection. In the current museum various gifts, souvenirs, mementos gifted by dignitaries like the Raja of Palvancha and other such people to the last Nizam of Hyderabad on the occasion of his silver jubilee celebration held in 1936. During the celebrations a gold furnished throne was used. There are vintage cars also displayed here.On 18th February 2000 the Nizam Trust opened this museum for general public viewing.<em><strong>The collection includes:<\/strong><\/em>\u2022 Gold Tiffin Box inlaid with diamonds\u2022 Miniature replica of the silver jubilee hall\u2022 Glass inlay painting of Mir Osman Ali Khan\u2022 Wooden writing box studded with Diamonds\u2022 Gold studded daggers &amp; caskets\u2022 Silver ittardans (perfume containers)\u2022 Silver coffee cups studded with diamonds\u2022 Silver filigree elephant with mahout\u2022 Silver and gold models of various landmark buildings of Hyderabad with quotations in Urdu language<em><strong>Among the vintage car display the following cars are here:<\/strong><\/em>\u2022 Rolls Royce of 1930s\u2022 Mark V Jaguar\u2022 Packard, etc.Apart from the above mentioned collection the museum also showcases the wardrobe of the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, a one hundred and fifty years old manually operated lift and a two hundred years old Proclamation drums.You must be aware of the fact that Hyderabad&#8217;s last Nizam Osman Ali Khan was the richest man of his time and his wealth was reported to be US $ 2 billion in 1940s. He dies in the year 1967 and till his death he was believed to be on top of the rich man&#8217;s list in the world. In a recent report it was said that still no one could break his record if we value his wealth of that time. Today the wealth of last Nizam would be US $ 225 if we take into consideration the inflation. It is really amazing to know that a man with that fortune lived in India in the times of British rule.
