There are not just people of various tastes to contend with but also animals to deal with as many of your neighbours may have pets. The key to living happily in an apartment building is to develop a high tolerance threshold. Otherwise you will be complaining too much for anybody\u2019s liking. And often if you are living in the same building with the same neighbours over a long time you will grow good relations with them and feel quite at home with a family.However this is a scenario possibly no tenant staying in a rented apartment building will find himself in as tenant stay only for a short while in any place. Therefore a few tips about how to handle neighbours may come handy for such a person.<strong>Be Polite<\/strong>: People living in glass houses should not throw stones. People living in apartments should not become enemies with their neighbours. Though you should not go out of your way to be polite but do not misbehave with the neighbours. If they are having problems with any of your activities, listen to them patiently. Do as much as you can to amend for them. If you do this you can hope that in case you are stuck in a similar situation, your neighbor will do the same unto you. An apartment building can become a great source of security. If you are new to a city and know no one, you can always depend on a neighbour to help you out.<strong>Be Considerate<\/strong>: Neighbours may complain if you play the music too loud in the middle of the night or throw large and boisterous parties all the time. While living in an apartment does not mean you cannot have any entertainment or cannot socialize, you have to be a bit considerate. Many apartment units share a wall and this makes all sorts of sounds easily audible. If you are a tenant in your mid 20s and your neighbour is an elderly couple then they will complain about your loudness and you may be irritated but try to be considerate and bound your loud music and parties to more reasonable hours of the day.<strong>Dealing with Kids<\/strong>: Every apartment building comes with a fair number of kids and kids of an apartment building generally become great friends. What follows is a good amount of hullaballoo when these kids come out to play within the housing complex. Their activities can even lead to breaking of window panes or tree pots as they throw their playthings around. This may often get onto your nerves but try to be tolerant as children cannot be expected to stick to adult boundaries. Give them fair warning but do not go too far as their parents would be worse matters to deal with than the kids and broken glass.<strong>Dealing with Pets<\/strong>: Does your neighbour\u2019s dog howl incessantly at you whenever you pass their door? Or did your neighbour\u2019s cat try to sneak into your kitchen again? Talk to their owners. It would be even better if you can just make friends with dog and keep all your food out of the reach of the cat. If you own any pet then keep tabs on them.
