The increase in the level of global warming has created a panic among the people of our country and with respect to the global threat most of them are adapting eco-friendly ways of living. Most of the cities are going green to control the increase in the alarming rate of nature menace. Real estate sector of some cities are incorporating green ways of construction and development of the \u00a0\u00a0residential as well as commercial complex. Pune real estate is latest on the block of sustainability and green living.The city of Pune is enclosed with verdant greenery. Though the number of concrete forests is increasing in comparison to the green forests, the city has come up with some elite eco-friendly way of living. Most of the real estate developers have switched to environment friendly method for construction. The city has witnessed numerous trends in the realty sector recently and sustainability has remained a growing concern. Several builders have incorporated green specifications in their realty projects such as solar water heating system, rainwater harvesting, recycling the construction wastes for next building, sewage treatment plants etc. They have also concentrated on indoor environment like constructing towers in such a way that it allows natural light and ventilation to enter the room which in turn will save electricity.<b>Green projects in Pune:<\/b>Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) are the two most reputed rating systems in India that certifies the various buildings after passing certain parameters. Most of the commercial structures in Pune are certified with these prestigious ratings. Energy efficiency, water saving, material selection and indoor environment are the primary factors on which the rating is decided.L&amp;T, Kirloskar Brothers limited, Wipro limited, Tata Motors Ltd., SCN Builders &amp; Developers, Amit Enterprises Housing Ltd. are some of the reputed names who have passed the test of green buildings in Pune. Apart from these, the two major township projects Lavasa and Magarpatta have also adapted the green norms.<b>Magarpatta:<\/b>An integrated township constructed on 4000 acres of land comprises of residential, commercial, SEZ s. the township is the home to many IT\/ ITES companies. The project is named after farmer\u2019s community. The farming community covered the entire township with 25000 and the lawns are spread across 25 sq ft of area. Every residential complex here is integrated with solar water heating system. The construction material used is also all eco-friendly.<b>Lavasa:<\/b>This extensive project has won many global awards for its excellent infrastructure. This mega township is envisaged as the first hill city of India. \u00a0The master plan includes 5 new towns spread across 7 hills. The project ensures use of green norms such as bioswales , reforestation, rain-water harvesting, usage of green materials, green roofs and several other \u00a0eco-friendly practices.Pune is a well developed city and by incorporating green norms it is doing its bit to save our nature plus.
