Several state governments including Maharashtra state government has requested the Union government to eliminate the regulations that work against the favor of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/india\/top-builders\" target=\"_blank\">real estate builders<\/a>. The Environment Ministry has handed over the responsibility to the state government and has appealed for make modifications.The present change is anticipated to permit the builders to construct high-rise residential towers in smaller roads and lanes of the cities.The February 2012 rules set up to acquire environment clearance were like, building above 60 metres are approved if they were present at 30 metres wide road and are at distance of maximum 2 kms from fire station. If the building were between 45 to 60 metres then it should be constructed at least on 24 metre wide road and should be note more 5 km away from fire station. 30 to 45 metre building should be located on approximately 18 metre wide road and the fire station should at a distance of around 10 kms. In case of 15 to 30 metre building, the road should be at least 15 metre wide and the fire station distance could be anywhere around as the probability of risk is low in this case. These regulations required No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the national or state disaster management as well as the state fire department.\u00a0 The stipulation were brought forward to avoid the increasing traffic problems and for the safety measures for the towering residences.Builders were not satisfied and opposed the regulations.
