At every other mile you find a serene natural spot where your eyes stop blinking. Among the many popular places full of natural beauty there are some spots still untouched, unexplored and not so popular but nothing less than a paradise for nature lovers. Let me tell you about one such place in the vicinity known as Sajan. It is also spelled as Saajan. The intact natural beauty of this place is actually hard to find in today\u2019s world which is full of concrete jungles. You can realise what nature means only after touching the boundary of Sajan. Time becomes still in here and you forget your world of competition, growth and work schedules as you want to indulge fully into the magic of Mother Nature. It is located at off Manor- Jawhar Road in the district of Thane in Maharashtra. It is quite a small village mostly occupied by Marathi population. This tiny village is surrounded by thick forests and that is the beauty of this place.People here mostly farmers have turned their green areas into multi use farmhouses. They grow Mango and Chikoo (Sapota) in here. You get a complete natural experience once you get here. Though this place does not have many tourists&#8217;attraction points like in other hot spots but still this place has something different to offer. There are few attractions that can be explored here apart from the lush greenery all around. There is a historical fort standing tall named Kohoj Fort. It is the primary monument of this region and noone knows the actual date of its inception but it is true that the fort has seen many rulers starting from Bhoj dynasty. Then Portuguese came in the picture in the sixteenth century. They captured the fort somewhere around 1530 from a Gujarat King and extended it by building bastions and fortifications. The fort was then known as Tana Mayambu. From Portuguese the fort was conquered by Maratha Empire and they ruled here from 1660 to 1800. British took over the fort from Marathas in 1800 and it was under their rule till India got independence in the year 1947. Some opines that this fort was also ruled by Muslim rulers for around 360 years.Another tourist attraction here is Palusa Falls situated twelve kilometres from village Sajan. It is a very pretty fall falling from a height of sixty feet located in a picturesque verdant setting. You may be surprised to know that this fall never dries up whether its summer or winter. Moho Kurd Dam is another place you can explore in Sajan. It is situated over calm waters of River Moho and has a beautiful sight for nature and bird watchers. It is quite a big water reservoir and you can get pretty good opportunity to sight migratory birds here. This small dam is just two kilometres from Sajan village. I should not forget to mention the Tiger Caves located sixteen kilometres from here are worth exploring. There is a historical Peshwa temple which is popular for its grandness and historical importance. Another temple in the village is Mahalaxmi temple. These two religious places get good number of visitors on auspicious occasions. The Peshwa temple is eighteen kilometres from Sajan and can be reached only by foot. It is a place for trekkers only.<strong>Weather<\/strong>The weather here is pleasant all year around. You can visit the place any time but from October to March are the best.Winter temperature \u2013 150c to 300cSummer temperature \u2013 230c to 370c<strong>The distance of Sajan from<\/strong>Mumbai \u2013 135 kmPune \u2013 219 km<strong>Expected time to cover the distance from Pune<\/strong>4 hours<strong>Accessibility<\/strong>Sajan is easily reached by road, rail or air.<strong>Accommodation<\/strong>There are some resorts here to stay and enjoy.
