The joint secretary of CREDAI National has written the plea to the principal secretary of state Housing &amp; Urban Development Department(H&amp;UD), asking the reduction in the amount of units reserved as the desired percentage will be enough to satisfy the EWS population. CREDAI claimed that even 5% will create sizeable units for the section.According to the policy, if any private developer&#8217;s project exceeds 2000 sq m then it is mandatory to reserve 15% of dwelling for EWS and LIG sections (EWG should not be less than 50%). However CREDAI demands flexibility in the policy between EWS and LIG instead of stringent rules.The apex body has also demanded exemption of all kinds of deposits and fees needed to approve the buildings units reserved for EWS, LIG and MIG because the proposed selling rates are nearly coming equal to the cost of construction.
