And before even budget session starts, transactions of land deals across India are suddenly rising up, especially Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh states.Ruling party is trying to get approval for new Land Acquisition Bill which will increase the compensation offered for lands in rural as well as urban areas. Previous Land Acquisition Bill was in rule since 1894 and it had many drawbacks. The new Bill will concentrate more on the fair compensation to the lands acquired from farmers and owners.The basic value of compensation in urban areas will be calculated depending on the previous 3 years land transactions in the area and in rural areas, value will mostly be doubled; calculated according to the prescribed methodology. Other than that states will have the power to inflate compensation offered depending on the situation.The news of the new bill has woken up the buyers, hence the land deals have increased proportionately. \u201cThe longer it takes to pass the bill in parliament, more will be the loss of farmers and land owners across the country\u201d the minister of rural development Jairam Ramesh said before the all party meeting called by the UPA government.The opposition party suggested that the government should not acquire the land which will be used for the private companies.
