Satellite Township will have the budget of Rs 120 crore and will house 19,500 units.The township would be built over the 586.86 acre which is owned by Tamil Nadu Housing Board on the outskirts of Madurai city. 19,500 units will be divided in low, middle, high income groups and economically weak group with allotments of 14,300, 2,500, 750 and 1,950 housing units respectively. The township will possess the basic amenities such as roads, drainage system, park, water supply etc and township will also feature the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/fund-allocation-for-rain-water-harvesting\/\">rain water harvesting<\/a> facilities.Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, while announcing the township in the assembly said that Tamil Nadu Housing Board will fund the police station, post office, primary health centre, fire station along with schools and commercial complexes. The township will be the separate city as it includes all the necessary facilities and amenities.Government also took their interest in building a project with 1500 flats at Sholinganallur. The project will house people from all classes, but the apartments will be divided in separate sections for low, middle and high income groups. The Project will be built using the \u201cpre fab technology\u201d and estimated cost of the project is Rs 612 crore.The pre fab technology is already followed in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
