It is an art and craft village created to encourage the dying spirit of various artisans and artists whose art goes unrecognised in modern world. Here in this village they get a platform to show their arts and skills and also get a chance to earn for their hard word by selling the arts. Thus the traditional arts and crafts are preserved here. This art and craft village was established in the year 1998 and opened its doors for artists on June 21, 1998. The Shilparamam Village is situated at Madhapur in Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The village is located just a few kilometres from city of Hyderabad. This fascinating village is designed in ethnic architectural style. You get feel of real India after entering the village. Actually the idea to establish such a craft village was born in 1992 but materialised in the year 1998 by the efforts of State Government. It is constructed by Nagarjuna Construction Company. It is spread over an area of 65 acres.<\/span>The very warm traditional ambience gives the first impression of a cultural heritage but the actual experience you get once you start exploring it. Here you can witness various cultural festivals that are celebrated all year around. Artists come here from all over the country to display their arts and crafts. No doubt they get a boost to improve their talents and continue it to keep them alive. The rural India comes alive here with the blend of diversified art forms coming under one roof. You can&#8217;t get such a variety of rich cultural heritage in the form of art anywhere else in the country but in Hyderabad. Here you can find various forms of impressive wood work, jewellery, cloths, local crafts of different regions, interesting artefacts and many more. You can say it is a pool of artistic ethos in which you can take a dip and enjoy the serene atmosphere of this rustic village amidst green gardens, natural rock landscaping, waterfalls, etc.<strong>The main attractions of the village are as follows:<\/strong>The Rural Museum \u2013 you can call it a typical Indian village but in a miniature form with life sized models of villagers doing daily activities of artists. It has fifteen actual huts constructed in the same manner as in villages using baked clay and thatch. It represents the rural and tribal lifestyles as many artisans belong to such life in rural India. It is a mirror for city folks to get to know a real village.Another attraction in the village is Rock Museum. You must be thinking it is a rock sculpture museum but you are wrong as it is natural and beautiful shaped rock formations collected from various villages. The credit for this beautiful rock garden goes to Shantiniketan&#8217;s Subroto Basu who brought the ecological part of village alive by establishing this rock museum.At the entrance of Shiparamam a lush green garden welcomes you with cultural motifs and terracotta sculptures. If you are a shopping freak then you are at the right place as there are hundreds of stalls to satisfy your shopping hunger. Here you can shop for a variety of handicrafts, toys, carpets, handmade saris, textiles from different states like Tangail, Sambhalpur, Paithini, Kashmiri, Kanjeevaram, Dharmavaram, Tanjavur, Madurai, Peddapuram, Bandar, Guntur, etc. Here you can also buy the original artefacts from the artists directly.If you are not done with the shopping then there is another surprise for you and that is boating. There is a beautiful lake here that provides you a chance for boat riding.
