There is a bulk of population that had purchased a house, paid the stamp duty but lethargic to register it. These people have to pay the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/11979-rise-in-stamp-duty-for-land-registration\/\">extra stamp duty<\/a> while doing registration according to the current rates.For example, if Mr.Mehta has bought a flat in the year 2001 and paid the stamp duty of Rs 5000 (an assumption that it&#8217;s the SD rate in year 2001) but doing the registration in year 2013 when the SD rate is Rs 20,000 then an extra amount of Rs 15,000 must be paid in order to process the registry.Property experts are skeptical about the decision and expressed negativity on the proposal as this may hinder the prospect of CM&#8217;s drive to thrust deemed conveyance in favour of housing societies.It started in 2002 when the Bombay high court ordered that the agreement of sale will not create any interest or charge on the property and thus it is not compulsory to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/property-registration-offices-in-mumbai\/\">register the property<\/a>.
