Luckily for Noida at least a part of its traffic congestion problems is about to be solved. Last month Public Works Department (PWD), after a delay of four years, managed to get an approval from the Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC) for constructing three additional clover leaf flyovers in the NH-24 and the Noida Link Road area. On Friday the Noida Authority announced that tender proceedings for the cloverleaf flyovers will begin from next month. The designs for the proposed clover leaf flyovers and an underpass near Model Colony Police Chowki had been approved by the National Highway Authority of India&#8217;s (NHAI) UP division.The Noida Authority had been waiting for the NHAI&#8217;s approval. Soon after receiving the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from NHAI and the Union Ministry of Transport, which is likely to be received within a week, Detailed Project Report will be finalized and bids will be invited.The Noida Authority will be developing the clover leaf flyovers on a plot of land provided by the Ghaziabad development Authority (GDA). Construction would have already begun if the land that was to be used for the construction of the clover leaves did not get entangled in a disagreement with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) last October. The CISF has a camp near the proposed site for the clover leaf flyovers. Though CISF had granted an &#8220;in principal approval&#8221; for the flyovers last year there were problems when it came to handing over the land following a joint survey. The Noida Authority handed the matter over to the GDA. The GDA has now provided 6 acres of alternative land for the development of the proposed flyovers.The clover leaves and the underpass near Model Colony crossing will control the traffic movement from Noida to NH24 through Sector 62 going towards Ghaziabad and Delhi. Two clover leaves will be constructed on each side of the highway.
