Both the places are quite close to each other. In this write up I am giving you information on Taramati Baradari. You may find the name quite unusual but it has a meaning and after knowing the meaning you may find it perfect. Taramati Baradari was actually a serai or a caravan station for travellers and traders who used to rest here in hot afternoons while on long distance trading trips. It is situated at the Ibrahimbaugh on Osman Sagar Road (Gandipet) near Hyderabad. The complex is a part of Ibrahimbaugh which is a Persian style garden. It was created at the time of ruling of second Sultan of Golconda named Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah. The baradari is spread over an area of seven acres with verdant green environs in its surroundings. Golconda Fort is situated quite close to this Baradari thus visible from here. The Taramati Baradari was built by the seventh sultan or emperor of Golconda Abdullah Qutub Shah and named Taramati Baradari in order to pay tribute to his favourite courtesan Taramati. It was built on the banks of River Musi. Currently this region comes under the city limits of Hyderabad.This Caravan station complex&#8217;s name has different legends and the appropriate I found among them is as follows: There were two dancers in the court of Emperor Abdulla Qutub Shah. The names of these dancers were Taramati and Premamati. They used to dance on ropes that were tied between the balcony of the King and fan Abdulla Qutub Shah and their pavilion. Among the two Taramati was the favourite of the king and he admired her melodious voice that is said to reach his ears by the breeze in the fort from far away. the romanticism reached on high between the two and the king wanted to dedicate the Baradari after her and thus he named it Taramati Baradari. The royal members&#8217; graves are situated just half a mile from the Golconda fort in the form of beautifully carved royal tombs amidst green gardens. The both the Dancers of King Abdullah also got a place in this royal cemetery and both were buried here.The complex of Taramati Baradari has twelve doorways in order to have cross ventilation and thus making the pavilion cool and breeze. It was the most common technique used in those times to beat the heat. The current status of this heritage monument is that it has now two fully equipped theatres and is a popular venue for musical concerts, performing arts, social and cultural events, etc. The theatre is air cooled and has a seating capacity of 500 people. Apart from this there is an open air auditorium with a capacity of 1600 people and a banquet hall where around 250 people can dine together.
