The Mother about whom I am talking today was not the mother of one or two but of thousands of people who came to her or she went to them to help and rescue. I guess now you must have got me. She is the great Mother Teresa who lived in Kolkata and served thousands of people as her own sons and daughters without any condition. She lived her life simply but did great things. No doubt to say that her life is an inspiration for everyone as she was not an ordinary person but an actual form of God and love. Let me take you to a place where she spent most of life. This place is now known as Motherhouse under the management of the Missionaries of Charity. It is a simple multi-storey building but worth paying a visit in order to get the inspiration and connect the Mother of world.The entire house is not open for public viewing but some part of the house is open. You need to entre from the first alley North of Ripon St. Here is situated the very simple and sober, just like the Mother Teresa, large tomb of Mother. Many people come here every day to pay respect to Mother Teresa. You may not know that Mother Teresa was buried on the ground floor of the Mother house. It was on 13th September 1997 when people last said goodbye to their dearest Mother Teresa. The tomb is now like a pilgrimage and people come here to meditate and connect to the Mother. Here you feel deep peace and silence in spite of crowded traffic outside on the roads of Kolkata city. It is a perfect place to pray and being conscious as Mother of all is watching you. you not only can pray here but also can place your petitions in the box at the tomb. These petitions are offered to altar at the time of weekly mass on Fridays. A holy mass offered at 4.30 pm on Fridays. There is a chapel on the first floor where every morning at 6.00 am a mass is organised for sisters and volunteers.Next to the Mother’s Tomb situated the museum which exhibits articles related to mother Teresa and her life. This small museum was opened in the year 2005 and known as Mother Teresa’s Life, Spirit and Message. On the display are the handwritten letters of Mother Teresa, spiritual exhortations, her sari, sandals, crucifix, battered enamel dinner bowl, etc. when you climb upstairs you get to see the room where she lived. This is known as Mother’s Room. She worked in this room and also slept in this very simple small room from 1953 to 1997. It is kept as it is since her death on 5th September 1997. It is a very simple room with a small modest single bed and a crown of thorns placed above the bed.Address<\/strong>The Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity,54 A, A.J.C.
