But how many of us actually remember them or I should say we know them. They were also as great as Mahatma Gandhi but unfortunately we do not have any chapter in our school books on them. We are not taught the biographies of these less popular heroes who have given up all joys of life for our independence. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is one such hero about whom we do not know much. His ambition was same as Mahatma Gandhi but not many people could understand and recognise that. Unfortunately no one knows where he was in his last time or whether he was killed or died a natural death. If you also think like me then you are at the right place. Let me give you one opportunity to know this great hero of India by paying a visit to a special place dedicated to him.The name of the place is Azad Hind Gram. It is located at Tikri Kalan on National Highway 10 at Rohtak Road near Delhi Haryana border. This complex is situated near Punjabi Baugh. Mundka is the nearest metro station to reach here. Delhi Haryana border is just two kilometres away from Azad Hind Gram. The Azad Hind Gram is started and developed by Delhi Tourism in order to honour Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The project started in the year 1998 and completed in the year 2000. This project is spread on almost six acres of land which consists of quality leisure spaces along with basic amenities and many more. North Indian architecture is reflecting in the design of the project along with excellent traditional Indian craftsmanship. If you are interested to know why this place is chosen to build the Netaji&#8217;s memorial then let me inform you that this place is said to be the last known place where Netaji had delivered his speech. The museum is surrounded by intricate mosaic domes giving it an inviting appearance. Memorial is designed by experts from Calcutta. You can see Netaji with different expressions. The murals placed here are so lively that it seems they will speak now. The main attraction of the entire complex is the memorial and statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Apart from these the complex houses widespread plazas, amphitheatre, tourist information centre, souvenir shop, garden shop, book stall, a restaurant, several food stalls, large conference facility, drinking water facility, public washrooms, etc. The concept of Azad Hind Gram is belonged to then Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma. It is not just a memorial but a historic place known for the speech of Netaji to his Soldiers. Government is putting efforts to make this place a popular tourist destination as you won&#8217;t see this place even in Delhi Tourism&#8217;s daily tours. But I personally feel that this place is worth giving attention due to its historic significance, connection to one of the greatest heroes of India and a perfect leisurely spot.
