Navratri is the most colourful religious festival of people of Gujarat and this religious festival is connected to the Goddess of Power. She has different forms but the devotion of people is always on high. There is one place in Gujarat known as Ambaji which has derived its name from the goddess Amba whose temple is situated here. Ambaji is religiously significant place because it is one of the major Shakti Peethas among 51 Shakti Peethas in the country. Being known as an important temple town Ambaji is located in Arasur of Banaskantha district of Gujarat state. Due to its immense significance in religious field millions of devotees come here every year to worship Mata Ambaji. In the night when all lights and chandeliers are switched on the temple looks fantabulous. The Ambaji Temple was built by Ruler of Vallabhi King Arun Sen from Suriyavansh in the fourth century AD. The beautiful temple is built using white marble that gives it heavenly appearance and the gold shikhars (cones) on top enhance the elegance of this holy structure. There is something very interesting about the temple of Arasuri Ambaji. You might be expecting an idol or image of goddess in the temple but to your surprise there is no statue or image of goddess in this magnificent temple but instead gold plated “Shree Visa Yantra” is worshipped as goddess. This Yantra has Kurma back convex shape. There is another thing which I want to tell you that no one can see the Yantra with naked eyes. One needs to tie a bandage on the eyes while worshipping the Yantra. No photography of Yantra is allowed today and it was never photographed in the past as well. It is said that the nearby Gabbar hilltop situated just five kilometres away is the original place where Amba Mata’s seat is situated. The Gabbar Mountain lies on the Gujarat Rajasthan border. Every year on the occasion of Purnima the temple sees hundreds of devotees. A big carnival is held on Bhadvi Purnima. Devotees not only come from Gujarat but from the entire country to worship goddess Ambaji in the form of Yantra in the month of July. During this time the entire premises is decorated with bright lights like festival Diwali. Navratri festival is celebrated in admiration of Amba Mata in the entire state every year. during this festival people install Mataji and perform Garba dance around her. There are many places around the temple at a short distance to explore like a small temple on top of the Gabbar hills with 999 steps to reach there. In this temple a lamp is lighted constantly without putting it off ever and this lamp faces Visa Yantra of the temple Ambaji. Apart from this the sunset point, Cave, Mataji’s swing, ropeway, etc. can be added to your tour list. In Ambaji town finest quality of marble and granites are processed from mines. In short we can list out nearby excursions as under:

Kamakshi temple – 1 km from Ambaji, 51 shakti pithas and centre for cosmic power installed in a single complex for visitors information, at Khedbrahma Highway

Kailash Hill sunset – 1.5 kilometres from Ambaji, Shiva temple, sunset point and picnic spot

Mansarovar – Mahadev temple, Ajay Devi (Ambaji’s sister) temple, holy tank, dated 1584 – 1594 by Shri Tapishanker

Koteshwar – 8 kilometres from Ambaji temple, Koteshwar Mahadev temple, holy kund (tank), Gaumukh (cows mouth) incarved in the rock from where Sarswati River flows

The other temples in Ambaji are Varahi Mata, Ambikeshwar Mahadev, Ganapati Temple, Khodiyar Mata, Ajaya Mata, Hanumanji.

Temple timings7.15 to 11.30 in the morning12.00 to 4.15 in the afternoon6.30 to 9 .00 in the eveningDistance from various placesAhmedabad – 183 kilometresPalanpur – 65 kilometresMount Abu – 45 kilometresAbu Road –20 kilometresKadiyadra – 50 kilometresTime taken to cover the distance from Ahmedabad to Ambaji is approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes.RUCHI MAHAJANзайм на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн

Navratri is coming and people of Gujarat are preparing for colourful dresses, dandiyas and setting the Ghat of Navratra.
