If you are planning to visit Chennai then let me help you to make your itinerary by exploring its magnificent tourist spots one by one. Let me take you to Dakshinachitra first. It is quite a unique tourist destination situated approximately 25 kilometres in the south of Chennai at Muttukadu on East Coast Road to Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu. Spread over rolling ten acres of land Dakshinachitra faces the Bay of Bengal at one side.As the name suggests Dakshinachitra means a picture of South and as per its meaning this place actually reflects the picture of south Indian estates which include Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It is basically a real museum in open air along with a popular cultural centre. It was inaugurated in the year 1996 and since then this museum is ever growing. Dakshinchitra is created with an aim to preserve the traditional way of life in south India and they did it by building living villages that showcase several traditional style homes in south India. As you enter Dakshinachitra fresh flowers in a pot with Rangoli welcomes you at the entrance. This place offers the visitors an opportunity to indulge in the ancient art, craft, pottery, lifestyle, performing arts, architecture, music as well as dance. It is an important centre for craft making communities in south as it helps in technical and business openings to different craft centres situated in South India. While roaming around the Dakshinachitra you can explore ancient homes belonging to different communities from different states of south. You are allowed to get inside these homes to check the interiors of these village homes of ancient period. The various village homes include houses from Karnataka, houses of weaving community from IIkal, agraharam from Tirunelveli district, Nattukottai Chettiar house, Syrian Christian house, Hindu house from Thiruvananthapuram, cattle shed, wall mounted puppets from Andhra Pradesh, etc.Trying your hand on simple activities of art and craft is added enjoyment and new experience. There are arrangements for you to play some traditional games played by people of the bygone age.Games like spin tops, break pots, board games, glass blowing are worth trying. This is not the end of all but you can also take part in the traditional dance whether you can match your leg or not with the music. The most important part of this place is the exhibition that will explain in detail the rich traditions belonging to the four southern states. If you feel hungry after exploring this vast museum and heritage village then do not worry as there is a restaurant named Kanali where you can have your lunch or snacks. If you are visiting south you must want to have a remembrance of this place then go ahead towards the shopping area where you can buy art pieces, textiles, authentic Indian Crafts, jewellery, etc. if you do not want to buy from the shops you can directly buy crafts from the artists or crafts person at the craft bazaar.Reaching DakshinachitraTo reach Dakshinachitra you can catch the bus service available from Chennai Central.Timings of DakshinachitraIt is open from 10.00 am till 6.00 pm.Opening daysIt is open on all days of week except Tuesdays.Entry feeRs. 75 for adults and Rs. 20 for kidsContact number+91-44-27472603Websitewww.dakshinachitra.net RUCHI MAHAJANзайм на карту без отказов круглосуточновзять кредит онлайн

Chennai is an important place in South India.
