The process includes taking care of all the parts of the home, right from the ceiling to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/is-the-wooden-flooring-right-for-your-home\/\" target=\"_blank\">flooring<\/a>, walls, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/why-should-you-choose-energy-efficient-doors-windows\/\" target=\"_blank\">windows<\/a>, doors etc. Maintaining walls can be a major problem, if not cleaned on routine basis. Light and regular cleaning of the walls will keep them looking fresh. Walls can be made up of brick, cement, wood, glass, concrete block etc. Walls easily catch dirt due to fingerprints, crayon marks, cigarette smoke and so on.<em>Here are few tips to maintain your home walls:<\/em><strong>Washing your walls:<\/strong>There are certain techniques to wash your home walls. Wash the walls from bottom to top, to prevent streaks, cover the clean area. Cleaning depends on the wall paint and the wall texture. Rubbing too much may cause strains or remove the paint. Use water and a clean sponge to wash the wall. Rub gently with the sponge on the stains. You can mix the water with the liquid soap and wipe the soapy residue on the prominent marks.<strong>Whitewash:<\/strong>One of the key ingredients to keep your wall fresh is whitewashing it. Whitewash is not a paint, it is a very thin plaster made by mixing water, lime and other components. The technique is quite cost-effective and hygienic. It gives the wall a complete clean and fresh look. To apply a thick coat over the walls use large paint brush.<strong>Remove stains:<\/strong>Stains like crayon marks, cooking grease, cigarette smoke, lipstick and others are created on the wall accidently or by children. Use a wet sponge, apply some pressure and wipe the area in circular motions. You can fill a bucket with hot water and add \u00bc cup of pine based cleaner and wipe the stain off with the sponge. Pine based cleaner such as Pine-Sol is mild and won\u2019t damage the paint.<strong>Glossy paint:<\/strong>Make use of latex polymer paints, as they are easy to clean and maintain. These paints are smooth and shiny which allows creating less marks as well as less dirt to settle on the walls. You can also make use of semi-gloss paints.<strong>Repair the dents and scratches:<\/strong>Walls get scratched and dented due to various reasons. To avoid the walls to get damaged, keep the furniture away from the wall. You can put rubber bumpers on the backs of your furniture. You can fill the scars and dents with Plaster of Paris or can do touch-ups with paints.<strong>Repair the dampness and leakage in the walls:<\/strong>It is very important to solve all the water related problems that affect the wall. If it is not taken care of properly it will weaken the walls and would cause the wall to collapse. Therefore it is necessary to do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bharatestates.com\/blog\/waterproofing-tips-for-your-home\/\" target=\"_blank\">waterproofing<\/a>. Also look out for any mossy growth, if it is present than eradicate it by using moss cleaner.<strong>Repainting the walls:<\/strong>One of the easiest ways to give your home walls a fresh look is by repainting it. Always change the look of your home by painting the walls with same colors or different color shades. You can also paste wallpapers to give a vibrant look or create various designs on the walls. This will not only make your walls look fresh but will also beautify your interior d\u00e9cor.<strong>Use vacuum cleaners to clean your walls:<\/strong>You can make use of vacuum cleaner with smooth brush for your walls to stay clean.
