Why is important to have a 7/12 Extract?
Mahabhulekh 7/12 – Official Land Record Website:
In order to deliver better services to the citizens of the State of Maharashtra, the Government introduced an online portal ‘mahabhulekh.mumbai.nic.in’ which is the official website of the State’s Land Record Department. By bringing in digitization, the process of land updation and maintenance will be computerized thereby saving the time required for data retrieval, to a major extent. Almost 2 crore extracts across 358 Talukas of Maharashtra have been digitized. With the process of Digitization it is thereby possible to take a snapshot of the 7/12 extract online. It is also possible to view your property card details on this official website.
Benefits of Land Record Digitization:
Apart from the digitization scheme, the Government will be issuing a SMART CARD to the owners which will help in uniquely identifying the owner of the land. It will help eliminate record duplication and manipulation.
The form No. 7 and 12 have been completely digitized to help the citizens to get accurate records online itself. Property Cards have also been digitized in this process.
Thus obtaining a 7/12 Extract is important in order to confirm the ownership of the land which acts a legal evidence to process land related transactions in the future. You can logon to the official website to view the 7/12 Extract online.
