Pune: With the city receiving 30% less rainfall in the initial stages of the monsoons, water paucity seems to be one of the biggest threats at present. To arrive at a feasible solution to this problem, rain water harvesting has been made compulsory for new constructions. Existing Government buildings also come under this resolution. In accordance to the resolution, new and upcoming projects in the city should compulsorily have rain water harvesting systems. Accumulating and storing rain water will resolve the issue of water deficiency. Appropriate measures will be taken by the city Corporation to ensure the smooth implementation of this resolution.
Initially campaigns will be carried out for spreading awareness about this harvesting technique. After this phase supervisory work will begin to check whether the rain water harvesting plans are being implemented without any hindrance.
If this project is successful then the hovering water scarcity problem will resolved.
