Pune has a very well developed industrial infrastructure, and the growth of the city into a software center has led to a major spurt in the development of social infrastructure facilities, which now rank among the best in India. Pune being the center of learning, education and research, the easy availability of software engineers is an advantage. The Government has chosen Pune city as a prominent center for development of IT looking at the industrial growth in and around Pune city and the excellent international standard, educational facilities available in Pune. In 2003 the government of Maharashtra revised it’s IT and ITES policy to attract software companies. Hinjewadi Pune was considered as the logical choice to set up IT industry here. Hinjewadi offers an area that was spacious enough to accommodate the IT companies, Hinjewadi is in the north-west outskirts of Pune is within the commuting distance from the heart of the Pune City. Hinjewadi IT Park is close to Mumbai Pune Express Highway, the Mumbai international airport is about 3 – 3.5 hours drive.
The Rajiv Gandhi IT Park is also known as the Hinjewadi IT Park, this IT hub in Pune is host to many reputed software companies. Some of the software giant’s include IT Cos like Infosys, Wipro, Geometric, Cognizant, AztecSoft and IBM. Hinjewadi IT Park is a project undertaken by MIDC to promote the IT sector in Pune. Hinjewadi IT Park is expected to have an area of about 2800 acres. The whole project is to be developed in four phases; the first two phases are already completed. NOTE :
1. MIDC reserves the right to revise the rates without prior notice.
2. If the plot is facing State Highway/National Highway or the service road parallel to highways, then 15% additional premium will have to be paid.
3. If the plot is having the more frontage than the standard size, then additional frontage charges will have to be paid for the excess frontage per running meter decided by the corporation time to time.
4. If the plot is situated at the junction as stated at 1) above or having the excess frontage as stated at 3) above, in that case the additional premium will have to be recovered which will be on higher side.
