The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun work on creating Puneri Chowpatty along the Khadakwasla reservoir on Pune-Sinhagad Road. PMC had planned to develop a 750-meter artificial beach complete with coconut trees along the dam’s backwaters in two phases. The civic officials informed that a four foot retaining wall would be constructed along the backwaters and a twenty foot high wall would be constructed along the Pune-Sinhagad Road and the 30ft distance between the two walls would comprise the beach.
